model: The beautiful Tarryn-Lee Lamb Warner, have a peek at her blog here

And just like that, all I want to do is shoot, all the time

It feels like I'm rediscovering photography all over again, & I'm starting to think that break was the best thing I could have done

Also, I was recently featured on the Pony Anarchy site, wooh!

I think everyone experiences moments in life where inspiration can't be found anywhere and a break is needed. I just went through that,

photography was boring me, or rather I was bored in general and it affected my work.

But sometimes when you find youself lost and in a bit of a bad place, something comes around and your faced with a whole new outlook.

I discovered that I missed working and sculpting with my hands, and took up ceramics as a hobby, which has now become a new and

exciting venture. It's such a long road, I look at the mass amounts of things I want and need to make to get where I want, and I look at

little ol' me, and I don't really know what I'v gotten myself into, but at the same time, for the first time in a long time, I feel challenged.

And it feels good :)

This does not, by any means, mean I have stopped photographing. In fact now I want to more than ever before! I just thought I'd share

my feelings lately.

so go take a look and let me know what you think! :)

with finishing tech and finding the home of my dreams recently, I promise many many more shoots soon,

over and above my personal work however, I am now officially open for business as a freelancer

so, if any of my South African followers are reading this and need a photographer, I'm your person :)

Hoping everyone is happy and healthy

Model: Oyanda Kona

Clothing: Silver Spoon

Accessories: The Cake League

featured here

My latest series, Sound of Settling

I have been against shooting on the beach for so long. Numerous reasons behind this,

not least of which was because I just found it incredibly overdone.

But I did it and I'm glad, Oyanda is probably one of the most professional, easy going models I'v ever had the

pleasure of working with and I am so thankful to have worked with her.

I have mentioned this before but my website is up and running, please go take a look

also, after months of saying I would NEVER do it, I have made a facebook page

I would love it if you would take the time to look at it and maybe even"like" it :)

The reality is that it's just easier for work purposes, but I still cringe every time I think about it..

I mean, it just feels like something someone with an extremely big head would do, oh well

On life: well, it's wonderful right now. a bit scary, but wonderful

Wonderful because I have a happy little home for a while, in a creative place called Richmond Hill

a little garden, a fireplace, a loft.

Stoked.

Scary because I have to accept I cant always shoot exactly what I want,

for the sake of our travels next year it is so worth it.

So, I would like to thank each and every one who reads this stuff I write.

I have been fortunate to receive a bit of recognition lately,

and it's honestly just because for some reason people actually give a shit about my work.

So thank you.

My talented friend Natalie Creed just launched her new range for Summer,

We've been speaking about this shoot for so long, planning and racing through ideas

and one day spontaneously decided it was time to do it!

The location and light was magic,

an apartment full of the most interesting items and people, it seriously set the tone for the shoot and was so inspiring to work in

thanks so much to all involved!
